The bigger picture

Over the last 8 years, Grimsby Community Energy has built a portfolio of renewable energy assets by installing 10 solar arrays on 5 local community organisations, including St Andrews Hospice, YMCA and The Rock Foundation. In this time, they have:
  • Installed 534kW solar PV panels for community organisations
  • Generated 184MWh of clean electricity
  • Mitigated 194 tonnes C02 emissions
  • Saved host organisations £65,400 on their electricity bills
  • Distributed £2,800 to a community benefit fund, that helps even more community organisations to decarbonise and save energy

And they have big plans to do a lot more. Their vision is to reach 1 megawatt of community-owned solar generation by 2025 and 2 megawatts by 2030. This share offer will fund their next 3 installations. Will you support them?

  • Enable them to install solar panels on 3 more sites in their solar pipeline, and line up the next set of projects after that
  • Once operational, these solar arrays will save community organisations £24,000 annually on bills and mitigate 89 Tonnes of CO2 emissions each year
  • Empower local organisations to take control of their energy generation by creating 100% community-owned renewable energy, and
  • Support Grimsby’s place-based transition to a zero-carbon energy system that benefits the entire community
