Ethex Cuppa Club East Marsh Community

East Marsh Community’s (EMC) vision is to build a community, in one of England’s most deprived areas of East Marsh in Grimsby. The area currently suffers from high poverty rates and low levels of education and employment. Multiple properties in the area have become run-down and derelict. EMC are already working within the community to breathe life back into the local area and bring empty homes back into use as quality, affordable community-owned housing.

They are raising finance via their share offer to help fund the purchase and transformation of a further 10 empty properties, into high quality and affordable family homes. This will enable local families to live in proper homes, with an ethical community landlord that cares for and respects them.

On the webinar, we will be speaking to Dr Billy Dasein, Director of East Marsh Community to hear more about the organisation, what they have achieved so far and their ambitions for the future of the East Marsh Ward. He will discuss the issues the area currently faces and how funds raised from the share offer will enable them to take a community-owned approach to create a more vibrant place to live, creating new jobs in the area and giving families quality and affordable homes.
