Join Ethex for a Cuppa Club webinar where we chat with the Ashden Award-winning community energy organisation, Energise Barnsley.
With an impressive track record of solar and battery installation projects across Barnsley, this pioneering community energy group was the worthy recipient of the prestigious 2024 Ashden Award for People’s Energy. Their work so far has been carried out in partnership with their local authority and has accelerated the just transition from fossil fuels to clean energy in Barnsley. Their three existing projects have saved over 2,207 tonnes of CO2 and collectively saved tenants £374,595 on electricity bills. Add to that the £96,000 generated to fund community initiatives that tackle climate change and fuel poverty and you can see why this organisation is worthy of an award!
Energise Barnsley has launched a 6% bond offer via Ethex to raise £3,675,000 to install solar panels on up to 1,000 more social housing homes in Barnsley.
On the webinar, we chat with Bethan Wynton, Director at Energise Barnsley, to learn more about the impact their projects are having on the local community and the environment. We hear about the collaboration with the local council and housing associations, the community benefits they’re providing, and their vision to help 1,000 more council-owed homes benefit from solar panels.
