Kindling Farm will be a pioneering, large-scale community-owned farm that will promote sustainable farming practices, producing healthy and organic food for all.
The total raised includes match funding of £250,000 from Co-ops UK thank to The Community Shares Booster programme, the People’s Postcode Lottery and The A-Team Foundation. Match funding allows you to double the impact of any investment made £ for £, but should not be seen as a recommendation to invest or an endorsement by any of these organisations.

It’s with great excitement that we announce that Kindling Farm have decided to reopen their community share offer to investments, having set a new maximum funding target of £1.3 million.
The share offer was incredibly popular when it opened for investment in April 2021 and met its target raise of £650,000 in just over a month. Such was the momentum of interest in the offer, the team have decided, having briefly closed the offer to investments, to re-open it with a new maximum raise amount.
This was decided after careful consideration and revisiting their financial model and the offer will now run until the original end date of 3rd July 2021. This is following the news that the owner of the original farm they intended to buy can’t give a clear timeline of when they could sell to The Kindling Trust and so they have decided to look for another farm, which is why they want to attract as much investment as possible in these final few weeks of their offer, to put them in a strong position to buy when a suitable farm has been found.
The more they can raise in community shares, the less they need to take in long-term loans, and the stronger their immediate purchasing power will be as well as the long term resilience of Kindling Farm.
We’re happy to welcome Kindling Farm back on board and look forward to helping them reach their new maximum funding target in the next few weeks!

Dear all,
Firstly we hope you are all well and enjoying this lovely
sunshine and more importantly a HUGE thank you for bearing with us over the
last couple of weeks. We have been busily revising our modelling and documents,
talking to advisors and making sure that we have everything right before we get
back to you all.
As promised, an
update is attached within the Documents tab covering our progress since our recent news, both in terms of the farm we
were hoping to buy no longer being available and having over-reached our
community shares target so quickly.
Following the revision of our financial modelling and the
very positive responses of our advisors, supporters and a potential new match
investor, we have decided to increase our community shares target and are now
looking to raise as much as we can towards the original projected £1.3 million
purchase cost. The more we raise in community shares, the less we take in
long-term loans and the stronger our immediate purchasing power and the long
term resilience of Kindling Farm.
This decision has been made following a great deal of work
over the last two weeks and we now have an updated Business Plan and Share
Offer Document to reflect our current situation.
A table of
all changes and where you can find them in the two revised documents is also attached under the Documents tab.
We hope that the revisions we have made are clear, but
please do not hesitate to get in touch if you have further questions. We will
be holding a series of surgeries over the coming weeks, so you can pop in to
have a chat about these or any other questions you may have.
Again, huge thanks for all of your support, we really do
appreciate it and we will keep you updated on any progress. We look forward to
hearing from and hopefully seeing you all in the not too distant future.
With very warm wishes from
Helen, Chris, Abi, Stu and the
rest of the Kindling Farm team

Great news for Kindling farm as their share offer has passed its initial target amount of £650,000.
14th April 2021
We’re pleased to announce that Postcode Innovation Trust, a grant-giving trust funded by players of People’s Postcode Lottery, is deploying £50,000 of match-funding into the Kindling Farm community share offer as part of a larger match-funding commitment to Ethex.
From 14th April 2021, every £1 invested into the share offer will be matched by £1 by Postcode Innovation Trust, up to a maximum of £50,000, providing a boost to individual investments and taking their total to over £400,000, which is past the minimum they need for their project to proceed.
The investment forms part of a £310,000 tranche of funding from Postcode Innovation Trust into 3 share offers. Laura Chow, Head of Charities at People’s Postcode Lottery, said: “I’m delighted funding raised by players of People’s Postcode Lottery is supporting these three fantastic causes, enabling them to create a positive impact on the lives of the people and the communities they’re supporting.”
